White Footed
Black Ants
Appearance: Black in color, about one-tenth of an inch long.
Diet: Just about anything,
food, water and especially sweet foods.
Habits: Colonies are massive
usually containing hundreds of thousands. They travel in trails leaving an invisible scent
trail so the rest of the colony can follow once food is found. Nesting locations can be found anywhere from trees, especially
palm trees to anywhere in and around the house.
Solution: Recommend interior and exterior treatments including
a basic interior service and exterior lawn and ornamental treatment.

Fire Ants
Appearance: Red in color about one fourth of an inch long. Queens can live up to six years while
workers live about six months.
Diet: Prefers sweet or
greasy food and has been known to eat meat.
Habits: Large colonies that nest
in mounds from several inches up to fifteen inches or more in diameter. Mounds can reach
up to twelve inches high. Very aggressive and will bite and
sting.
Solution: Exterior lawn service and granulating.

Carpenter Ants
Appearance: Most common species in South Florida
is the red carpenter ant. Approximately one-fourth to three-eights of an inch long. Worker ants have
large mandibles
Diet: Will feed on some
insects. Likes foods that are sweet and some meats.
Habits: Likes to nest in dead
trees & stumps and under various things as stones and woodpiles. Colonies can contain up to several thousand workers and
can be difficult to control.
Solution: Basic interior service, attic dusting and exterior lawn and ornamental treatments.
